December 2015 Promotion for Hope

Winter Retreat 2016

This was Noah's first youth group retreat and he had a fantastic time. Eric and I got to go as leaders and we were thoroughly blessed by the experience. Leading our kids, Jonathan was outstanding. This years them was: New Creation, New Identity, New Belonging, New Thinking. The kids were challenged to put on the robe of Christ and remember whose we are. Enjoy the pictures!

Camp Comer 2015 Boy Scout Camp

Yeah so, this happened in early June of 2015. I suppose there is an excuse floating around here somewhere as to why it is now 2016 and this is just now making the blog, but I can't seem to find it. Anyway, this was Noah's first time at Scout camp. To say he loved it would be an understatement. Luckily, his Dad was able to get time off of work and join him at camp for the week. Scouting is something Eric wants to do with Noah as long as Noah will have him. These two were thick as thieves during camp. Awesome memories were made and plans for this year's camp are already being set in motion. The girls and I were able to go visit the boys on family night and it was so much fun. Noah didn't think we were going to make it so it was a great surprise for him. White water rafting capped off the week of camp and Noah can't get enough of this. It was by far his favorite thing of the week.

Archery Adventure at Murphy Lake

December 29, 2015

McKaime, Noah, Kimberly, and I traveled to the lake to shoot our bows with Grandpa and Grandma. The kids enjoyed shooting bag targets and balloons, but the real deal was the private archery range where they got to shoot 3-D targets, cook hotdogs over a fire, and roast marshmallows for s’mores.

Two things to note:

1. McKaime was shooting Angie’s new bow because it would be the bow she would most likely upgrade to. It has a peep hole, sites, and works best with a release. It is an excellent bow and fun to shoot, McKaime whole heartedly agrees. I hope the Patricks forgive us for enticing their daughter so!

2. McKaime was NOT going to get on the golf cart, let alone drive it. Now she is addicted to driving the golf cart. She is a wild woman and Noah is afraid to ride with her…just kidding, sorta.

Also, Kimberly is a natural with a bow and was killing those 3D targets. She and I shared my mom’s bow. All of us shot really well.

I started calling Kimberly, “Kill-bear-ly.” While I completely missed the bear with my shot, Kimberly made a perfect kill shot on it.! Which saved McKaime’s life since McKaime only shot the bear in the shoulder and it was coming to maul her.
